Amaul’s revenue was Rs 90,000 crore – Amuls Revenue was 90000 Crore

India’s largest dairy brand Amul has gained two points in all categories in the last financial year. The company’s income increased to Rs 90,000 crore in FY 2025, which was Rs 80,000 crore in FY 2024, a year ago. Amul Managing Director Jayen Mehta told Business Standard, “Now we are targeting a revenue of Rs 1 lakh crore in the next financial year 2026 because we expect a strong growth in all categories.” He said that the start of the current financial year has also been strong as there is a tremendous demand for summer products like ice cream and milkshake.

Mehta said that the revenue of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Association (GCMMF) was Rs 66,000 crore, which was about 12 per cent higher in FY 2025. The major reason for this decline in the business of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Association, which sells Amul products across the country, Valsad, Rajkot, Godhra, Surat, Vadodara and Anand dairy themselves sell milk and milk products under the Amul brand, but it is not seen in Amul’s business. Apart from this, the total business of Amul shows the cattle fodder business, which is not part of the business of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Association.

Amul is identified for his dairy, but gradually it is now moving towards becoming a food company and has removed several products including organic pulses, flour, basmati rice, spices. In the last financial year, Amul entered the US market with its fresh milk and for this the company partnered with the Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA). As part of this partnership, Michigan Milk Productions Association will make milk collection and processing and the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Association will do branding for its marketing and Amul in the country.

This cooperative organization was launched in FY 1974 and now it exports its products to more than 50 countries. The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Association came into existence on July 9, 1973, when six dairy cooperatives led by Varghese Kurien came together and Kurien came to be called Milkman of India. Kurien had the idea of marketing of milk and milk products under the Amul brand. At present, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Association has 18 members unions with more than 36 crore farmers in 18,600 villages in Gujarat.
