Battleground Mobile India (BGMI) developer and publisher Crafton has bought a large stake in Pune’s game development studio firm Natillus Mobile for Rs 118 crore. With this, it has become an acquisition of its first dominated share in India.
The investment is part of the South Korean gaming publisher’s plan to strengthen its game development section in the country and detect related opportunities for game publishing.
“We want to try to bring more games in the Indian market in association with Natillus and work together on some titles,” corporate development chief Nihansh Bhat told Business Standard at Crafton India, not only from the perspective of intellectual property (IP), but also from the perspective of co-development. “
The company made this investment in 2022 after an initial investment of Rs 40.5 crore in Ntillus in 2022 to get a dominated stake. The Pune -based game studio has prepared the cricket game franchise ‘Real Cricket’.
Bhat said, “We believe that we can work more closely with one of the best development talents in the country.”
This capital will be a significant collaboration for investment crafts, in which Knatillus will continue to work as an independent unit.
Nutilus Mobile CEO Anuj Manakar said, ‘This participation will give us a chance to make partnerships other than the existing. We will use Crafton’s network as well as resources to strengthen the partnership on licensing, which will give better authenticity to our cricket game.
The company has introduced several titles under Real Cricket IP, including the latest versions Real Cricket 24 and Real Cricket 22, as well as Real Cricket Go and Legacy Title Real Cricket Premier League.
