Ola Electric, who is struggling with weak sales of its electric two -wheeler, once again managed to reach the top in April of the first month of FY 2026. In April, the company’s market participation reached 22.4 percent and the registration number reached 18,485.
However, the gap of Ola electric edge with its rivals is very low. The second number is TVS, which has registered a registration of 18,205 vehicles (market share 22.06 percent) and Bajaj Auto in third place, which is 17,743 (21.5 percent) of registration (21.5 percent). This is a clear indication of strong competition between three companies for electric two -wheelers.
The impact of government subsidy (which has been reduced to half 5,000 rupees from April 1) on the e-scooter is clearly visible on the total sale of e-addicts. The total sales of April saw a huge decline in March, which fell 35 percent from 126,703 vehicles to only 82,539 vehicles. The question is whether this deduction in subsidy will adversely affect sales in the next few months. Although sales increased by about 30 per cent in April on an annual basis, while the industry was expected more than this.
In March, the participation of Ola Electric was rapidly decreased, leading to the company to third and reached Bajaj number one. The decline in sales of Ola also came due to the problems of its vendors associated with registration for the company. The company at one time touched a 50 percent stake in the e-dopia market, but the competition of rivals, allegations on its poor service and regulatory inquiry have affected the sales as well as its stocks in the stock markets.
Apart from this, there is also a delay in offer of electric motorcycles of the company, which was expected to be delivered in April. Despite the pressure on market participation in FY 2025, Ola is dominating with more than 31 percent participation, which was 36 percent in FY 2024. Bajaj’s market partnership increased from 11.7 per cent of the financial year 2024 to 20.5 per cent in FY 2025 while TVS has managed to maintain market participation.
