Will the Bumper Lottery of Adaani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) be installed in April?

Navi Mumbai International Airport (N-Mayal) is expected to be inaugurated in the second week of April and after that domestic commercial aircraft may be possible from May. This information has been received two months after testing the commercial flight under construction airport.

Arun Bansal, Chief Working Officer of Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), a subsidiary of Adani Group’s leading company, Adani Group, said in December last year that international flights are expected to start from July next year from the airport.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has met N-Mayal stakeholders to take stock of preparations before granting aerodrum license. In December, the test aircraft landed here and evaluated new equipment installed at the airport. This is done to confirm operational safety as an airport certification process.

In the first phase of operations, the airport will have the capacity to handle 2 crore passengers annually. Around 80 lakh to 1 crore passengers are expected to be handled to take over domestic operations within the first six months of the inauguration. N-Mayal will be the second airport in the Mumbai metropolitan region. Currently, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai region is the only airport in the only operation. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport handles more than 5 crore passengers annually.
